Cacklewood Ceramics

74

My mom, Meg Hogan Campbell, has been a ceramicist for nearly 40 years now. She creates functional work including the best-fitting mugs you’ve ever held as well as sculptural pieces, mobiles, assemblages, tiled works and watercolors.

Ceramics is her life. But she’s always had other jobs on the side to get by. She’s one of the hardest working, most prolific artists I know. She’s constantly calling Blake and I with quotes she read or articles or pieces she saw that she thought we might be into with our own work. And she and Sue are forever improving upon her backyard studio, which now sports a couple of kilns, glaze areas, two koi ponds and several eucalyptus trees, underwritten with tomato plants.

Below are a few pics of her recent work. I have a lot more images I took to edit and put up on her new website! Her site is http://meghogancampbell.com/. I’m still working on it, but I hope to have more images up there soon. In the meantime, you can see her artwork on my Flickr page.
