Red and White Something -Close-to-What-May-Be-Considered Sangria

image
These are the “sangrias” I made this weekend, as best as I can remember! I’ll update this post if I think of anything I forgot. I think the best part was letting it sit overnight in the fridge, and the bitter Granny Smith apples.

I made 1 for all my white wine ladies and 1 for all my red wine ladies. And 2 for all my any-kind-of-wine ladies.

White Sangria

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle dry white wine, like an alabriño
  • 1/2 cup light rum and/or gin
  • 1 Tbs Rosewater
  • The flesh and juice of 1 mango, skin and pit removed
  • 1 Granny Smith Apple, seeds removed and cut into wedges
  • Flesh and juice of 3 limes, seeded and sliced round
  • Flesh and juice of 2 lemons, seeded and sliced round
  • Flesh and juice of 1 orange, seeded and sliced
  • Handful of fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 3 Tbs Sugar
  • club soda
  • Ice

Directions

Combine all ingredients through the sugar in a pitcher, stir well, and let sit in the fridge overnight before serving. Pour glass half full, spoon in fruit, and then add ice and soda water to finish.

I honestly don’t know exact measurements. I just cut up all the fruit and put it in the pitcher, added in the bottle of wine and sugar, then topped off the pitcher with the last of some rum I had.
