Listing and New Year’s Resolutions: Draw, Draw, Print & Draw!

Sketchbook Dec 2012

I’ve never really been one for New Year’s Resolutions. I pretty much like to make Resolutions all year long in the form of extended to-do lists. I LOVE crossing things off on lists. It’s so satisfying. In any case, my place-holder resolution for this year is, of course, to KEEP DRAWING MORE!

I want to work in my sketchbook more as well as start a series of more finished drawings, hopefully with more relief prints thrown in there, as well. And screen prints! And I want to sew on things more and crochet more and…. this always gets out of hand. But blogging more is an okay resolution, too! It inspires me to do more of all of these things, and it helps me to organize my thoughts.

Here are a few sketchbook pages from December 8th to present. I started this new sketchbook at the end of the semester. My old one was so full of lists and grading charts and notes that it barely had any more space for drawing. The new book isn’t off to the greatest start, but it will get there!

I’m still working off of the Every Day Matters Drawing challenges for inspiration as well as just drawing the everyday people and things that surround me on my own. If y’all recall, I started up the EDM challenges again over the summer, and I also used them as an inspirational tool in my Art Appreciation classroom with great results.

Hope you all have a great start to 2013! And remember, along with those desired but probably-not-happening resolutions, remember to throw in a few resolutions you know you can achieve to keep your spirits up!
